Commercial Invoice
Itemized invoice with product descriptions, quantities, unit prices, total value, and HS codes. Required by every customs authority.
Packing List
Detailed list of package contents including item count, gross and net weights, and package dimensions. Used by customs to verify shipment against the invoice.
Certificate of Origin
Official document certifying the goods were manufactured in India. Required by some countries for preferential duty rates or trade agreements.
Fumigation Certificate
Phytosanitary certificate confirming the shipment meets biological safety standards. Required by some countries (Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, parts of Africa).
Shipping Label & AWB
Air waybill or bill of lading with full tracking information. Provided to you within 24 hours of dispatch.
Customs Declaration
Accurate goods description and value declaration for smooth customs processing. We declare accurately — no under-invoicing that could cause seizure or penalties.
HS Codes for Hair Extensions
Harmonized System (HS) codes are international classification codes used by customs authorities to identify products and calculate import duties. Using the correct HS code prevents delays, mis-classification penalties, and overpayment of duty.
| Product Type | HS Code | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Raw/unprocessed human hair | 0501.00 | Human hair, unworked; whether or not washed or scoured |
| Human hair extensions (dressed/thinned) | 6703.00.10 | Human hair, dressed, thinned, bleached or otherwise worked |
| Wigs and hairpieces of human hair | 6704.11.00 | Complete wigs of human hair |
| Synthetic or mixed hair extensions | 6704.19.00 | Wigs and hairpieces of synthetic textile materials |
| Hair accessories (clips, bands) | 9615.11.00 | Combs, hair-slides and the like |
HS code classification can vary by country — some countries use additional digits for sub-classification. The codes above are the most commonly applicable. We include the appropriate HS code on every commercial invoice.
Import Duty Reference — Major Markets
Import duties on hair extensions vary significantly by country. The following are approximate duty rates for the most common product types. Actual duty may vary based on HS code sub-classification, trade agreements, and your country’s current tariff schedule.
| Country | Approximate Duty Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| USA | 0–5% (most hair products duty-free) | Section 301 tariffs do NOT apply to Indian hair (applies to China) |
| UK | 0–4.7% | Post-Brexit UK Global Tariff applies |
| EU (Germany, France, Italy, etc.) | 0–4.7% | EU Common External Tariff |
| Canada | 0–5% | MFN tariff rate |
| UAE | 5% | GCC Common External Tariff |
| Saudi Arabia | 5% | GCC tariff |
| Nigeria | 20% + 7.5% VAT | High duty — factor into pricing strategy |
| Ghana | 20% + 12.5% VAT | Similar to Nigeria |
| South Africa | 0–20% | Depends on HS classification |
| Australia | 0–5% | Most hair extensions duty-free |
| Brazil | 18–20% + state tax | One of the highest import duty markets |
These rates are approximate references, not legal advice. Duty rates change — check your country’s current tariff schedule or consult a customs broker before importing. We are happy to assist with documentation but we are not customs advisors.

Shipping & Import Questions
Q1. Do I need an import license to buy hair extensions from India?
In most countries (USA, UK, EU, UAE, Australia, Canada), no special import license is required for hair extensions. Nigeria and some African countries may require an import permit or Form M. Check with your local customs authority or a broker if you’re unsure.
Q2. Who handles customs clearance — you or me?
We prepare all export documentation on our end. Customs clearance at your destination is handled by the shipping carrier (DHL, FedEx, Aramex) or your customs broker. The carrier typically contacts you to confirm details and collect any applicable duties/taxes before delivery.
Q3. Can I request under-invoicing to reduce customs duty?
No. We declare accurate product values on all customs documentation. Under-invoicing is illegal in most countries, risks shipment seizure, and can result in penalties or bans on future imports. We protect your business by declaring correctly.
Q4. What happens if my shipment is held at customs?
If your shipment is held, contact us immediately. We’ll provide any additional documentation customs may require — product composition certificates, origin verification, or supplementary invoices. Most holds are resolved within 2–5 business days.
Q5. Can I combine shipping for multiple orders placed in the same week?
Yes. If you place multiple orders within the same week, we can consolidate them into a single shipment to reduce shipping costs. Let us know in advance and we’ll hold the orders for combined dispatch.
